ACME Archives Boba Fett Artist Portfolio Review
The ACME Archives Boba Fett Artist Portfolio is arguably the most unique white Boba Fett collectible, and not only because it’s not an action figure or mini bust. This fine art set consists of reproductions of 11 images originally drawn by effects artist and art director Joe Johnston that served as a gift to a lucky few crew members of his pre-production staff in March of 1978.
These high quality giclees come in a 15″ by 18.5″ holographic textured portfolio featuring the iconic Mandalorian symbol made of brushed titanium alloy on the front. Each portfolio includes a certificate that documents Boba Fett as seen in the Star Wars Holiday Special and The Empire Strikes Back, as well as some behind the scenes history. Each certificate is signed by Joe Johnston himself.
This set of historic concept prints offer an unprecedented glimpse into the legendary bounty hunter’s transition from Ralph McQuarrie’s concept drawings into the “Supertrooper” design that eventually becomes the Boba Fett we all know and love. Interesting features of note that are revealed in this fine art set show several alternate jet pack designs as well as what appears to be a chest-mounted tow cable. Needless to say, the ACME Archives Boba Fett Artist Portfolio would make a fine addition to any Star Wars fan’s collection.
