Gentle Giant Ltd SDCC 2015 Exclusive Star Wars Prototype Boba Fett 1:6 Scale Mini Bust Limited to 750

Gentle Giant Ltd Exclusive Star Wars Prototype Boba Fett Mini Bust Review

Released as a 2015 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, the Gentle Giant Ltd Prototype Boba Fett 1:6 mini bust certainly fits the bill. Despite portraying a mostly white version of the legendary bounty hunter, the bust does not skimp on attention to detail. Multiple vibrant shades of white are used, as well as a several different textures ranging from the matte wrinkles of the jumpsuit, smooth polished armor, brushed steel accents, to the gracefully flowing cape. True to Gentle Giant’s commitment to quality, the paint job can be expected to be as impeccable as it is detailed.

As for the sculpt itself, the Gentle Giant white Boba Fett mini bust stays faithful to the original prototype suit as seen in the 1978 screen test. While the grappling hooks on Boba Fett’s jetpack are not sprung open on the bust, they are indeed present in a retracted position. The only discernible difference is the fact that the cape is not a Star Wars beach towel, instead opting for a single grey stripe design that can also be found on several other prototype Boba Fett collectibles. Given that the mini bust is meant to be a serious action-posed display piece, one can quickly conclude that going into battle with a beach towel would be deemed inappropriate anyway. Even the details on his rifle are accurate.

Last but not least, this limited edition mini bust does come with a numbered full color certificate of authenticity. The bottom of the bust also features the same number. With only 750 in existence, it should come to no surprise that this rare white Boba Fett collectible has long been sold out. The fact that this mini bust no longer appears on the Gentle Giant Ltd website is a testament to its scarcity.

Gentle Giant Ltd Exclusive Star Wars Prototype Boba Fett Mini Bust Specifications

In 1978, Star Wars fans were introduced to an early prototype of the new character known as Boba Fett. Fett was rumored to be a “Super Stormtrooper” that saw the character designed to be an elite, special forces Imperial trooper – better trained and equipped than regular foot soldiers. He sported sleek, all white armor over an off-white jump suit and an assortment of exotic gadgets and weaponry, making him a formidable opponent. In the end, this concept was revised and Fett became the gritty, rogue bounty hunter we all know today.

Gentle Giant Ltd. proudly introduces the Boba Fett Prototype Mini Bust! Featuring polished white armor, unique blaster and minute details, this digitally sculpted, hand painted mini bust comes individually numbered with a matching certificate of authenticity. May the Force be with you!
