Cartamundi Ralph McQuarrie Concept Boba Fett Limited Edition Card Review

Ralph McQuarrie fans were in for a treat at Star Wars Celebration Orlando in 2017 with the release of convention exclusive Ralph McQuarrie themed playing cards by Cartamundi. Only 150 decks were made, and each came packaged in an exquisitely crafted Star Wars-branded custom wood box and priced at just $65 each. As expected, each card in the deck features unique Star Wars artwork by Ralph McQuarrie.

To promote this unique collectible, the Cartamundi booth at Star Wars Celebration had a daily giveaway card featuring a different Ralph McQuarrie concept sketch for each day of the event: Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett. Convention exclusives themselves, these one of a kind cards are NOT from the Ralph McQuarrie decks but do feature identical card backs so they can be seamlessly integrated into the deck. Just be sure to swap out the Aces first!

Sunday at Star Wars Celebration Orlando marked the day that fans could pick up the Cartamundi Ralph McQuarrie Concept Boba Fett Limited Edition Card. For Boba Fett to be in the company of iconic characters like Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader is a testiment to the bounty hunter’s popularity, defying the character’s limited screen time. Personally, we’d like to think that Cartamundi simply saved the best for last.
